summary: This time series dataset includes weekly estimates of Sargassum influx and discrete seawater samples of dissolved oxygen, pH and total alkalinity, dissolved inorganic carbon, aragonite saturation state, pCO2 and measurements of temperature and salinity from 2019 to 2024. These are used to track the dynamics on local carbon chemistry and dissolved oxygen before, during and after a Sargassum inundation event in regional coastal and near-shore zones at the southwest part of Puerto Rico. .
funding: The Caribbean Coastal Ocean Observing System (CARICOOS), funded through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), is a Regional Association within the U.S. Integrated Ocean Observing System (IOOS).
